A doorman is there to escort you to the entrance and makes you feel you’ve arrived somewhere where service is taken seriously. Both of our starters were very good … well-balanced flavours accompanying well-cooked food – a combination that’s hard to beat. The best itemised bill I’ve ever seen… I was happy to oblige.

The rice was stunning … subtly scented with cardamom and cloves … each grain (imported specially from Pakistan) separate, firm and delicious.

An Irish couple own the place and they work front of house making sure the dining experience is perfect. Front of house has an exceptional view overlooking Bull Island. They also offer a range of dishes in which the fat content has been effectively reduced without sacrificing the flavours. Boy, do they think of everything in Kinara.

The naan bread was the best we have ever tasted and my wife and I fought over the crumbs. The beef khara masala was melt-in-the-mouth tender beef. It was superb – nicely presented in small earthenwarepots.

It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into selecting a number of dishes in various styles and presenting them in a meaningful way. Kinara’s aims are serious and it is earning the respect of locals and diners from further afield. Go and try it.

Our starters were very colourful and they receive full marks for presentation. Both main courses were faultless. Prices are astonishingly cheap, far cheaper than the stylish surroundings suggest.

All in all, a very good meal. The service is superb, the room elegant, comfortable and quietly stylish … you should really try it very soon.
